Make assumptions visible. Explore the trade-offs.
Economic Twin is an exploration of transparent economic scenario modelling and digital twin research. The ambition is to help communities and institutions compare possible choices, understand the relationships between them and ask more informed questions.
Decision-support, not a crystal ball.
A model is a structured way to explore a question. It is not a forecast of an entire society, a complete representation of lived experience or a substitute for judgement. Assumptions, data limitations and uncertainty must be explicit.
Work in the Jersey context is intended to inform learning and model design. This research is not presented as a validated model, a launched simulator or a proven basis for policy. Appropriate data, review and partner agreement would be needed before practical use.
- Define the specific decision or scenario to explore.
- Document assumptions, sources and data limitations.
- Compare options and show sensitivity to uncertainty.
- Invite challenge, review and local interpretation.
Better dialogue around difficult choices.
We are interested in conversations with researchers, local institutions and people with economic or data expertise who value transparency. Progress should be judged by the quality of the questions and the usefulness of the learning, not the appearance of certainty.
